Activ8

Activ-ate is an initiative of Sutton 1 in 4  Network which builds upon the success of Sutton Circle of Support. It is a peer led group and aims to encourage people to become more active and to share their interests as well as developing connections outside of mental health services.

Our aims and values

  • To act as a source of inspiration and support reducing the burden of living with distress and mental ill health.
  • To remind Activ8 members that they are not alone.
  • To provide a space for members to be themselves without fear of rejection or ridicule.
  • To recognise people’s achievements and strengths and to celebrate and share these.
  • To enable Activ8 members to regain strength from realising that they are an important part of the group but also the community.
  • To provide an opportunity for members to benefit from the collective wisdom and experience of the other members.
  • To enable Activ8 members to develop their self and collective advocacy skills.
  • To enable Activ8 members to share their life challenges with those who understand.
  • Encourage Activ8 members to listen and be listened to.
  • Provide opportunities to make authentic connections that increase their sense of wellbeing.
